Intricate Cuts in Hardened Materials

Home > Solutions

Leverage our advanced Wire EDM technology from our Shenzhen factory—ideal for stamping dies, mold inserts, extrusion tooling, and medical micro-tools.

Hard Material Expertise

Our Wire EDM technology cuts conductive materials regardless of hardness — from hardened tool steel (HRC 65+) to carbide, titanium, and Inconel. Unlike conventional machining that requires annealing, we work directly with materials in their final hardened state, eliminating post-machining distortion risks. This ensures your stamping dies, mold components, and aerospace parts maintain their intended geometry and mechanical properties without secondary heat treatment.

Intricate Geometry

Wire EDM excels at creating features impossible with conventional CNC machining — sharp internal corners as small as 0.05mm, narrow slots, and complex 2D profiles. Our process handles these intricate geometries with exceptional accuracy regardless of material hardness. This capability is critical for extrusion dies, stamping punch profiles, and medical micro-tools where design precision directly impacts function.

Burr-Free & Stress-Free

Because Wire EDM uses electrical discharges rather than mechanical cutting forces, the process imposes zero physical stress on your workpiece. Delicate features, thin walls, and fragile geometries will not bend, deflect, or fracture during machining. The erosion process also produces no burrs, eliminating secondary deburring operations, and parts come off the machine ready for assembly or final inspection.

What is Wire EDM Machining?

Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (Wire EDM) is a non-contact manufacturing process that uses electrical discharges (sparks) to erode material from a conductive workpiece. Unlike conventional CNC machining that relies on cutting tools, Wire EDM removes material through controlled thermal erosion, enabling precision cuts in hardened steels, carbides, titanium, and exotic alloys — materials that are difficult or impossible to machine with traditional methods.

How It Works:

A thin, electrically charged brass or coated wire (typically 0.10mm to 0.30mm in diameter) travels between two guides, passing through the workpiece without touching it. The wire and workpiece are submerged in deionized water, which acts as a dielectric fluid. Thousands of controlled electrical discharges per second jump the gap between wire and workpiece, melting and vaporizing microscopic particles of material. The wire never makes physical contact, resulting in zero mechanical stress and a burr-free finish.

Key Differentiators:

-- Hardness Independence: EDM cuts any conductive material regardless of hardness — tool steel at HRC 60+ machines as easily as annealed material

-- No Cutting Forces: Delicate or thin-wall parts won't deform during machining

--Sharp Internal Corners: Achieve true 90-degree corners with tiny radii (0.05mm or less)
--Burr-Free: Parts come off the machine ready for assembly or further processing

Custom Wire EDM Services | Precision Shafts & Complex Rotational Parts

Precision Die & Punch Cuttin

Our Wire EDM machines excel at producing stamping die sets, progressive dies, and precision punches. We achieve exceptional straightness and corner accuracy, ensuring proper clearance and extended tool life. Ideal for high-volume stamping operations where die quality directly impacts part consistency.

Mold Insert & Cavity Machining

For injection molding and die casting, we cut intricate mold inserts, core pins, and cavities with tight corner radii and fine surface finishes. Wire EDM's ability to machine hardened materials after heat treatment ensures dimensional stability and eliminates distortion risk.

Prototype & Low-Volume Precision Components

When conventional machining reaches its limits — sharp internal corners, fragile geometries, or hardened materials — our Wire EDM service provides the solution. Perfect for medical micro-tools, aerospace prototypes, and R&D components where design flexibility is critical.
